Students will learn about human-environment interaction, including adapting to and modifying the environment. Throughout these weekly issues, students will learn about maps and practice map skills.
3rd grade Science: We will learn about Life Science this six weeks. Students will study the diversity of life on Earth, scientific classification and how living things survive in a variety of environments. We will be introduced to our microscopic world, the concept of similar cells developing into different systems. We will learn about the animal kingdom, as well as the human body.

Texas experienced great change during a relatively short period of time. These changes impacted the citizens of Texas in various ways. This unit continues to explore Texas’s connection with the wider world.
4th grade Science: We will begin our Life Science unit. Students will study the function and structure of living things. They will consider the similarities and differences among various types of organisms, including what the parts that make them up, such as cells and tissues. We will study the process of plants and how they grow. This unit will also include Earth's animals, endangered species,as well as the systems of the human body.

The focus of each paper will be on the contemporary world, but historical information will be included where needed to help students understand the people, government and social condition of each region.
5th/6th grade Science: We will begin our Life Science Unit this six weeks. Students will learn the reasons for classification. They will study how the taxonomy used by scientists to organize living things has changed over time. They will learn how the classification system works.Students will study the various components that make up forensic science. They will learn how examination of evidence and use of specialized tools help scientists in the field solve crimes. They will also learn about forensic ballistics and forensic pathology.Students will explore the diversity of the animal kingdom. They will also discuss endangered and extinct species.Students will study parts and functions of plants. They will examine plant reproduction and diversity. Students will define the difference between vascular and nonvascular plants.
