The History of St. Anthony's Oktoberfest- 40 years in the Making!
The first St. Anthony School Oktoberfest was held 40 years ago! In October 1982, parishoners of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church knew they wanted to do something to help the school. They wanted to start a fundraiser that would not only help the school financially, but also bring the church, school and community together.
From it's humble beginnings 40 years ago, St. Anthony's Oktoberfest has now grown to a celebrated annual event. Each year, 3500 people come out to have a delicious lunch and support our beautiful school!
in 2010, the Home and School Association of St. Anthony School added a live and silent auction to Oktoberfest. Among the items that have been auctioned the last few years include farm and ranch supplies, trips, jewelry, outdoor playsets, home decor and a wide variety of additional items. The auctions have paid for the gym floor, new playground equipment, ipads for students and teachers, curriculum and teacher bonuses.
St. Anthony Catholic School continues to strive toward excellence with growing its staff, facilities and student body. The funds raised this year will go to support classroom educational materials including improved technology and curriculum for all students.
We are so blessed to have a wonderful church and community that so generously donates time and treasure to help our school be successful! We are immensely grateful for all of those that have helped make Oktoberfest possible for the last years!
May God continue to bless the school and the remarkable benefactors who enrich our daily lives.
