Things your child will be learning:
January/ February Theme- Winter, New Years resolutions, Artic Animals, snow, Blue, White, Red, Purple and pink.
ELAR-Letter & Sounds (N, H, S,F,V, Z, P, E), change sounds into words to create new words, write dictated words, read phrases in decodable text, blend and read printed VC and CVC words and discriminate between vowel sounds in words.
Math- Modeling and counting numbers 15-20, compose numbers up to ten, decompose numbers up to 10,
adding up to 5, subtraction, addition up to 10 and word problems.
Science- Energy, move it, magnets and Gravity, Models, life, plants, and animals.
Social Studies- Patriotism, National Symbols, Texas Symbols, National Patriotic Holidays, Celebrate Freedom week, and map skills.
Social Focus: Compromising, apologizing, respecting differences, Gratitude and Honesty.
Notes: **Second Semester AR and spelling test will start. Every student needs to read for 30 minutes each night. This six weeks Kindergarten will need to test on a total of 8 books to make their goal. Please read book more than 2 times.
